Principal Clinical Psychologist
Founder of The Jarrah Tree Practice

Why us?
The Jarrah Tree Practice is a Clinical Psychology practice in Newcastle with a special interest in recurrent mood and anxiety disorders. We treat adults and adolescents aged 16 and over experiencing a variety of mental health challenges. We focus on providing quality, personalised care.

Martin Wieczorek, the founder, is an AHPRA-accredited Clinical Psychologist, board-approved supervisor, and holds Advanced Accreditation in Schema Therapy with the International Society for Schema Therapy.

At Jarrah Tree, all of our interventions are guided by principles of evidence-based practice. This doesn't mean that therapy is cold, clinical, sterile or depersonalised. It means that your clinician is across the latest clinical research and will weave in the relevant techniques and treatment approaches, giving you the best chance of achieving the outcomes that you want. All of our clinicians are Clinical Psychologists, which represents the highest level of certification for psychologists in Australia and is good quality assurance for you.

We take a holistic, person-centered approach. This means that we will take the time to understand you, your story and your individual situation and tailor our approach to you. Our focus is on providing the most efficient and effective care possible, while creating a genuine and caring therapeutic relationship.

Our psychologists are trained in a number of evidence-based techniques, including Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitisation (EMDR), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), as well as traditional CBT and mindfulness techniques. Check out our blog here, to learn more.

We have extensive experience working with adults and adolescents age 16+ facing a range of challenges.
Many of our clients come seeking help in adjusting to difficult life events, or figuring out what to do in a challenging situation.
Others may be experiencing issues with low mood, anxiety, anger, mood swings, motivation or relationship problems.
Some may have already started on their path to identify unhelpful life patterns they are wanting to break. Our practice can also help you with personal growth, including values clarification, goal setting and motivational enhancement.
